Cozy Crops Classes Options

Scrapbook Retreat Weekends in Lancaster, PA and Lititz, PA.


We are pleased to offer some great classes as an option to add to your weekends, whether you are simply renting the house or we are hosting you at a Cozy Crop. Group organizers can request any of these classes by pre-arrangement, depending on the instructor's availability. Advance signup IS REQUIRED, so that we can prepare class materials in advance.

A variety of two to four classes can be offered during a typical Cozy Crop weekend, and will be scheduled according to interest. Please note that some classes require a minimum of 3 students to run, and no more than 3 classes will be offered by any one instructor in a weekend.

Our instructors continue to create new material as scrapbooking trends evolve, and as specific classes are requested. Here is a list of some classes currently offered (class descriptions are either linked or described below):

4x12 Bazzill Album (instructor Rut Lopez) $15
Learn how to create a 4x12 mini-album using twelve 4x6 photos, pattern paper, ribbon & stickers. You don't even have to cut your photos for this project. It's a great gift idea and can be finished in about an hour! Come with a theme in mind.
6x6 Minibook (instructor Rut Lopez) $15
Create a 6x6 minibook using bazzill cardstock, your choice of pattern paper, ribbon, stickles and more. Learn how to mix pattern papers and add sparkle to your pages by using stickles. Theme ideas: birthday, baby shower (boy or girl) and vacation.
Christmas Card Party (instructor Rut Lopez) $15
Start working on your Christmas Cards. You'll create ten simple but unique cards using ribbon, brads, stamps, stickers, and much more--and will go home with plenty of ideas to choose from for making your own family's greetings this year. We'll have cookies, drinks, and gifts to help get you in the holiday spirit.

(New for April 2009) Fun Folded Cards and Embellishments (instructor Cheryl Whitehead) $17, 1 1/2 hours
Learn how to make fun, folded shaped cards and embellishments, including little dresses, matchbooks, the sexy "man" card, flip-o-rama, envelope pocket and more in this class great for cardmakers and scrapbookers alike. Each student will receive a set of fun-folding templates to take home for future folding!

(New) Introducing FlowerSoft (instructor Kate Rothacker) $15
Flower Soft is a fairly new product from England, introduced to the US for the first time in 2008. It creates a wonderful detailed floral effect with very little effort. In class we will make several items with the product to show a variety of techniques, which could include page tags & titles, greeting cards, bookmarks, and even a pin to wear. Class fee includes one jar of product in your choice of color ($5.50 retail value). See Flower Soft website for more info on this fun new craft addition.

(New) Melissa Frances "Open-Up Album" Class (instructor Rut Lopez) $15, 1.5 to 2 hours
Using a pre-made Melissa Frances open up mini album, you will learn how to mix pattern papers, ribbons, letters and more. We'll also be using a new tool that will make decorating chipboard a piece of cake. You get to select between a flower or a circle album. At the end of the class, you will have a completed mini-album that can be a great gift--or you can keep it for yourself.
12x12 Multi-photo Layout (in Disney or other theme) (instructor Rut Lopez) $15
Create two 12x12 layouts using 12+ photos, sizzlers, ribbon and matting your photos. Make a beautiful double layout in class, making use of lots of pictures on a page. The theme of this double layout can be changed for your photos; simply let us know what subject you would like your pages to be. The instructor will help select the appropriate page additions for the class. You'll find yourself using this versatile layout over and over again!
(New) ScrapOnizer Cricut cartridge storage system (instructor Kate Rothacker) $15
Ever get tired of carrying all the boxes to keep your Cricut cartridges, keypads, and manuals? The ScrapOnizer 3-compartment tray is sized perfectly to fit the books and keypads in two compartments, and 4 cartridges in the third compartment. Allow me to introduce a great new product we found at the CHA trade show in California, with this class altering a set of the best tools ever for organizing your scrap supplies. This system of trays & cases is designed for lots of easy-to-take-with-you storage in a small amount of space. In this class, you will take a standard starter set ($24.95 value) and turn it into a work of art, all for the price of the set. Usable for so much more than stationery!

Why be Wireless? (instructor Kate Rothacker) $15
Why use wire in your layouts? My first response to the use of wire in scrapbooking was disbelief—what could that possibly have to do with photos??? But I’ve seen enough enchanting layouts using wire to become a believer. In this class we will experiment with the what, when, where, and how of using wire on your scrapbook pages, as you create your own layout or wire embellishment(s). Materials provided for a 2-page layout.

Slice Personal Cutter
Small & lightweight, this newest personal cutter by Making Memories holds a charge so it can be used at any seat at the crop -- no more searching for an electrical outlet to be able to cut! Make some fun projects in this hands-on class so you can decide if you "need" this tool!

(New) Star Book (instructor Rut Lopez) $25
Create a beautiful free-standing star-shaped table centerpiece displaying fun photos. All materials are included. Tools needed: bone folder, paper trimmer, scissor and hole punch.
